Glenville Davies Thomas, Director of the All Ohio State Fair Youth Choir died Friday, Dec. 2 in Zanesville. Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 6 at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church, with arrangements by the Bryan Funeral Home in Zanesville. The Greater Zanesville Singers (100 members) in addition to approximately 100 former state fair choir members sang as part of the funeral service. The combined choir sang "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "How Great Thou Art" two of the traditional songs of the choir. He is survived by his wife Maridel "Mari" Thomas, two sons Richard E. Thomas and Brian R. Thomas and three grandsons.

Glenville Thomas was known by many in our area, having had hundreds of individuals participating in the All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir and European Tour Choir. The highlight of the Ohio State Fair for many was the All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir Alumni Day which was the final performance of the choir during the fair. Mr. Glenville Davies Thomas will be sadly missed.
