Alumni Day

Beautiful weather greeted hundreds of alumni who came to celebrate the AOSFC past and present. 24 members of the Cardinal Chorale that toured Europe led off the day at the Chorale reunion concert that celebrated 10 years of the Cardinal Chorale. the 2002, 2003 & 2004 Chorales also performed. All Chorale alumni assembled on the risers and performed songs that many of the editions of the chorale have performed.

The Glenville Thomas Memorial Concert followed the noon Alumni Association meeting and was hosted Rob Kurth. Performing were Mary Ann Harris, Erik Anderson, Leo Welsh, Rob & Jana Kurth, and the Barbershop Quartet from the 2004 choir, R & R. A collection was taken for the Glenville Thomas Scholarship fund, which provides scholarships for choir members who need financial assistance to come to the fair. last year, over $2200 in scholarships were given out to deserving students.

The evening concert at Heritage Park featured the 2003 choir, who voted for their favorite songs to perform on the program. Mr. Snyder invited all alums from 1992-2004 to the risers for an "all-skate" of the newer traditional songs, including "Let There Be Music," "Friends," "We Will Stand," and "Let Freedom Ring." All AOSFYC alumni gathered on stage for the "Battle Hymn of the Republic," the only song sung in all 42 years of the Youth Choir.

ODNR

Len Thomas, a 13-year member of Fred Waring's America staff, and arranger of "Beautiful Ohio" accompanied the choir at ODNR. It was special for the choir to meet a Pennsylvanian.
