State Fair Hall of Fame Luncheon

John Sullivan

The State Fair Hall of Fame luncheon was a special performance for the choir this year. John Sullivan ('80), a 17-year staff veteran was inducted into the State Fair Hall of Fame. Many of you know that John is very deserving of this award because of his unending dedication to the AOSFYC as a staff member and board member of the Alumni Association.

CONGRATULATIONS, John!!!!!

Opus Serenades

The choir was split into 5 separate groups tonight, singing at five different locations throughout the fairgrounds for our 6:30 performance. They performed at the Cardinal Gate, Bricker Building, Cox Fine Arts Center, Ohio Gate and ODNR Park. After serenading fair-goers with several acapella songs, the groups of 3 opera (plural of opus) marched back to Heritage Park.

Heritage Park

Tonight's Heritage Park Concert featured a guest conductor... Senator George Voinovich. After conducting 'Heart and Soul", Mr. Snyder and Jessica Landreth presented Sen. Voinovich with the Choir's Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his undying support of the choir, and youth in general. In his comments to the audience, he praised the choir, as well as Mr. Snyder. He also mentioned that his young granddaughter, when asked if she wanted to be in the choir when she was older, said "I'll think about it."
