Busy, Busy Day

The day started with the sound check/rehearsal for the Celeste Concert after the morning worship service. Following a quick march to the Cardinal Shelter, the choir was treated to a picnic lunch provided by the choir parents. The variety and amount of food was staggering! Thank you, parents!!

Celeste Concert

Over 1000 audience members enjoyed an afternoon of music by Ohio's finest musicians. The All-Ohio State Fair Band and Youth Choir both performed excellently today. The singers were greeted at the stage steps by the Youth Choir Staff in a "Tunnel of Support", receiving 'high fives' and words of encouragement. Each set showcased a theme or style of music, and the grand finale featured the combined forces of the 400 musicians from the band and choir in John Ness Beck's arrangement of "Battle Cry of Freedom", and Carmen Dragon's setting of "America the Beautiful. The crowd (in excess of 1000) gave both groups a rousing standing ovation. The concert was a memorable experience for the choir, staff, and audience alike.
