Recruit Day, Buckeye Sr. Chorus & Treats!

40 “recruits” joined the AOSFYC for the day to learn about the choir, and perform 3 songs at 3 of our performances. They were greeted by “mentor” members of the choir, who sat with them in rehearsal, took them to lunch, and spent some time with them during the day. The recruits were put into rows so they could march with the choir during the day. After Opus Serenades, we assembled at the Janis Center, where our friend Betty had arranged for punch and cupcakes to be served to the choir and guests.

The Buckeye Sr. Chorus joined us at 9:00 AM for a short rehearsal, and then performed the Battle Hymn at ODNR, along with the recruits, alumni and audience. The fireworks were certainly shot off at the end!

We said goodbye to our new friends after the Voinovich Lawn concert, which was attended by over 600 people. We hope that the recruit singers had a great day, and that we will see them in the choir next year!
