Information for Alumni Choir |

The organizational meeting for the Alumni Choir was held on September 27, 2003. Rehearsals: A first rehearsal was set for March 13 or 27th (TBA), 2004 and a location TBA. We are still looking for a centrally located area to hold rehearsals. If you know of any in the Columbus, Delaware, Pickerington, Reynoldsburg area, please contact John Sullivan or any board member. (Unfortunately, no, the Fairgrounds is not available). Steve Hildreth (present) and Cara Bieber (past) OYC staff members have said Yes to directing. A mission statement was set: "To promote musical fellowship among youth choir alumni while supporting and promoting the All Ohio Youth Choir." Eligibility: You must be a paid member ($15 membership dues yearly) and have graduated from high school (you can't be eligible for current choir!) Commitment: Six rehearsals will be set up. The 1st in March, then April, May, June and two in July. You must attend 5 of the 6 rehearsals. The 1st and last rehearsals are a must so that we may do voice placement. Community hours (this is your help with painting and cleaning of the dorms) will probably coincide with the last couple of rehearsals. The Alumni Choir must have a good balance sound. Minimum of 10 per voice part. Cost: A participation fee of $100 has also been set up. We have broken this down and the members who were present at the organizational meeting concluded that a $25 non refundable down payment will be needed by February 1, 2004, plus your membership dues paid up. The fees are all to help with the estimated cost of music, shirt (uniform), room rental, insurance, mileage for accompanist, and any other misc.
